Our History
Our Mission

TNTD was founded in 2012

True North owner and president Ken V. started his illustrious career in the United Kingdom. Working at Cummins Inc., Ken perfected his trade, quickly earning the nickname “The Diesel Doctor”. Able to diagnose issues by listening to the sound of an engine, Ken travelled around the globe as a Cummins Certified Field Technician, repairing engines in over 20 different countries. Ken spent many years with Cummins Western Canada, often fixing 400-tonne haul trucks in the oil, gas and mine industries. Coming in from the cold, Ken held the title of shop foreman, providing hands-on experience to all those ready to work hard and learn the trade. Forever the family man, opening True North Truck & Diesel with his sons in 2012 was not just the highlight of his career, but a natural progression cultivated over 40 years in the industry. Passing down his expertise and preparing the 3rd generation of Heavy Duty Technicians in his family, it’s clear that Diesel pumps through Ken's veins.
